TeN MoNtHs OLD!!!

So- I haven't been doing a great job lately of keeping the blog updated! It has turned into a "monthly" update...oh well! We're staying busy around here! :)

Hadley is ten months old now and it seems like she has changed in SO many ways in the past few weeks! She's crawling everywhere, pulling herself up on EVERYTHING, has figured out how to climb the steps, seems to be attracted to cords and outlets, and will do anything in her power to find the dog bone. Needless to say, Baby Proofing the house has been a priority...although we still need to buy a good baby gate. In the meantime, we're watching her VERY closely! :) She's sleeping very well at night in her big girl crib- which is dropped as low as it goes- and wakes up in the best mood every morning! She will eat almost any kind of food and has tried all kinds of new things! Her favorite food seems to be cheese (she is totally her father's child....). When eating, she'll pick out the cheese on her tray and eat all of it first and then eat the other food. If there is something on the tray she doesn't like or when she is finished eating, she graciously shares her food with Izzy.

She loves playing repetitive little games- and has the cutest little giggle while doing it! One of her favorites is when she crawls in the opposite direction from where we're sitting and one of us will say, "I'm going to get you!" Then she crawls faster and giggles until we grab her and pull her back towards us. She'll start laughing again and start to crawl as quickly as she can again in the opposite direction.

She's also said her first purposeful word- DOG. She's been jabbering away for awhile and says, "Mamamamama" and "Dadadadaa," but not with purpose. Recently, she looks directly at Izzy when she walks into the room and says her version of "dog". Usually, it sounds like "Gah" or "Gog" but sometimes she uses a "D" sound to make it sound a lot like "Dog". I wasn't sure if it was a fluke, but I don't think it is. If she hears Izzy bark, she'll say it; and she points at Izzy and says it each morning.

So...not only did she start crawling one night while we were out to dinner and our good friends Maggie and Jud were watching her, but now her first word appears to be "Dog". *Sigh* No love for Mommy and Daddy! ;)

Standing without holding on to anything!
