SiX MoNtHs OLD!!!

Our 1/2 year-old baby girl is growing so much and doing new things every day! It's difficult to keep track of all of her new tricks and discoveries, but here is a little bit about what she's been up to this month:

**Sits up very well on her own; she loves bending forward to reach her feet or to grab toys in front of her. She's still trying to figure out how to stabilize herself when she starts to lean (fall) backwards!

**Imitates some faces/head movements...will stick out her tongue, shake her head back and forth, and sometimes (if she's really concentrating) nod her head!

**Has two prominent bottom teeth! She made it through Round 1 of teething pretty well; the day that her teeth erupted was a little rough for her, but otherwise we couldn't even tell she was teething! We're wondering when her upper teeth will pop through...her upper gums are starting to look a little swollen!

**Wakes up each morning with a HUGE smile on her face.

**Wants nothing to do with a pacifier (and hasn't for a couple months now), but LOVES her pink bear lovey and snuggles with it during naps and when going to bed each night. Mimi even bought a second one for her as a backup since we end up washing the super-slobbery bear several times each week!

*Has recently discovered her thumbs (uh oh...). We're not quite sure if she's just playing with her new teeth or if she's going to be a thumb-sucker?!

**Likes rice cereal, LOVES oatmeal, and is (barely) tolerating the two new foods we started this week: avacados and sweet potatoes! Tonight we're going to try bananas! :)

**Puts ANYTHING in front of her in her mouth. She also loves drinking out of our water bottles if we're holding her and take a drink in front of her. She gets so excited to take a drink that she moves both of her arms and legs frantically in anticipation of a drink. (She's started drinking water out of her own sippy cups this month, too...although we're still experimenting with different cups/spouts).

**Has moved upstairs to the "big girl" bathtub. She enjoys her baths so much that she splashes all over the place and it was starting to get pretty messy in the kitchen sink. So, now she has the whole tub to splash and play in.

**Will smile for almost everyone, but REALLY gets a huge smile on her face and laughs the most for guys...Daddy, Grandpa, her uncles, Quinn (family friend and her babysitter Rachel's fiance),and Brad and Eric (her Texas boys)...I think we already have a little flirt on our hands!
